This 1700 sq. foot lake home resides on a 1/2 acre of wooded land that is level to the water. This is literally the view from the porch! Whether you're watching the kids play on our sandy beach, jump off our anchored swim raft, fish off the pier or roasting marshmallows at the firepit, you have the assurance they will be right where you can see them! We offer plenty of water toys too, featuring a rowboat, canoe, 2 kayaks, 2 Stand Up Paddle boards and a 2 person paddle boat, all included with your rental. With a depth of 25' Meta Lake is known for BlueGill, both Large and Smallmouth Bass as well as Walleye.  Meta Lake does not have a public boat launch, so if you wish to bring your own boat, we will direct you to a contact we have made on the lake, who will allow you access via their property.

The home is located near the end of a private, dead end road. Ample parking is available for vehicles and boats with trailers.  There's a ramp from the driveway that leads onto the covered area of the porch and then to the main entry. Once inside you'll notice the expanse of the open concept that includes the dining area, kitchen and living room. The vaulted cathedral ceiling exposes the 700 square foot carpeted sleeping loft complete with two twin beds and one queen. There's also a full bath on this upper level with shower stall. The view from the loft overlooks the lake where the early morning sunrise paints an indescribable landscape!

On the main level of the home you'll have the option to choose from two bedrooms and a full size bathroom. One bedroom offers a queen size bed while the second bedroom provides two twin beds. The bathroom features include an extra wide doorway for wheelchair accessibility with the ability to roll up to the sink. Both bathrooms provide plenty of counter space but this main level is equipped with the tub.

With tongue and groove cedar throughout the home, Porch in the Pines wraps you in the warm ambiance of the Northwoods. Because of it's openness, being together, catching up and enjoying each others company is easy and comfortable whether preparing a meal, watching the big game or snacking at the dining room table. Let the good times spill through the oversized sliding patio doors onto that huge wrap around porch, and you'll have plenty of space to accommodate everyone's favorite ways to relax!

Our kitchen is fully equipped with all the basics, like a toaster, microwave and coffee maker, but also furnishes a few vacation amenities like a blender, griddle and crockpot. Nicer still is the oversized refrigerator and a dishwasher.  The large kitchen island is highlighted by the sink that faces lakeside. Enjoy that great view, even while cooking!

For the occasional rainy day, light a fire in the wood burning fireplace, and choose from an array of games, books and puzzles. We offer a flat screen TV with Direct TV as well as a TV in the main bedroom.  Both have DVD  players and several movies are offered for your viewing pleasure. The furnishings are fresh, clean and comfortable with two recliners and a queen sofa sleeper and of course, with those large windows, even rain can provide a lovely backdrop while making vacation memories!

While we emphasize how relaxing your stay will be, if it's an action packed adventure you're searching for or a combination of the two, know that you are centrally located to many of the attractions the Northwoods beckons you to try your hand at. The are several public boat launches on the nearby Chain of 28 Lakes, and several marinas that will rent you wave runners, speed boats, etc. There's horseback riding, go karting, mini golfing, nice gift shops, excellent restaurants, there's movie theaters and grocery stores, bait shops, golf courses, bars and there's shops that will rent you bikes for the miles of paved bike and hike trails stretching across Vilas County.

Lots of adventure awaits you in all directions. There's winery tours, farmer's markets and even a few casinos less than an hour away. We're about 30 miles off the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, so consider a fun filled day trip where you can hike Bond Falls or take a scenic drive through the Porcupine Mountains as it winds along the shores of Lake Superior. You'll encounter lots of quaint little towns along the way, each with something unique to share.
